Presentación

  • Marin Lujak is an Associate Professor (Profesor Titular de Universidad) in Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence at the Center for Intelligent Information Technologies and their Applications (CETINIA), University Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, Spain.

    He holds an Engineering Diploma in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Automation and Robotics from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, and both a Master¿s degree and a Ph.D. in Management Engineering (Operations Research) from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy. He has held a Postdoc and a Distinguished Researcher position in the Artificial Intelligence Group at the University Rey Juan Carlos and a permanent Associate Professor position at IMT Nord Europe, University of Lille, France.

    His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence and Combinatorial Optimization, particularly on distributed and decentralized coordination and decision-making for Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), i.e., networks of autonomous software agents embedded in robots, sensors, vehicles, or other connected devices. These systems coordinate through communication rather than shared memory, enabling scalable and sustainable designs for large, complex systems involving multiple stakeholders.

    He applies his research to smart and green transport, emergency management, and multi-robot coordination. He has published over 45 Web of Science Core Collection articles across more than 20 indexed journals, including AI Communications, Annals of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, Applied Sciences, Computer Science and Information Systems, Computers and Industrial Engineering, Computers and Operations Research, Complexity, Electronics, Expert Systems with Applications, Future Generation Computer Systems, Information Systems, Information Systems Frontiers, Intelligent Systems, Knowledge-Based Systems, Neurocomputing, and Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing.

    He also holds a patent in fleet coordination, serves as an Associate Editor for two journals, and has acted as a reviewer for more than 20 journals and over 100 international conferences.
