Presentación

  • Deira Sosa Méndez earned her PhD in Automation and Robotics from the Polytechnic University of
    Madrid (Spain) in 2024. She is currently a Assistant Professor (PhD) at Rey Juan Carlos University, Mostoles campus. Dr. Sosa has been awarded master's and doctoral scholarships by the National
    Council of Humanities, Sciences, and Technologies (formerly known as the National Council of Science
    and Technology) in Mexico.
    Her research is focused on the development of robotic devices for rehabilitation, with particular
    emphasis on robotics, mechatronics, mathematical modeling, control systems, electronics,
    programming, digital twin simulation, as well as the design of human-robot interfaces, educational
    technology, mechanical design, and prototype manufacturing using CAD software tools.
    Notable achievements include the publication of articles in high-impact journals, research stays at both
    national and international institutions (the objective of the master's stay was the automation of a
    robotic exoskeleton for lower limbs rehabilitation, while the objective of the doctoral stay focused on
    the implementation of robust controllers in upper limb rehabilitation exoskeleton), and active
    participation in specialized conferences within her field of expertise. She also has extensive experience
    in university-level teaching in electromechanical and mechatronic engineering programs, leading
    research projects, and providing advisory/mentorship to teams in technological events, among other
    accomplishments. Additionally, she has contributed to teacher training, both as an assistant and
    instructor, and maintains close ties with research institutions.
