José Miguel Guerrero Hernández is a Professor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) in the Department of Signal Theory, Communications, Telematics Systems, and Computation, and a member of the Intelligent Robotics Lab. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has conducted research at UCM, UNED, CIEMAT, and Freie Universität Berlin.
His research focuses on perception systems and multisensory fusion for autonomous navigation, with applications in autonomous vehicles, precision agriculture, marine robotics, and social robotics, as well as real-time software development with C++ and ROS.
He has led and participated in European, national, and regional research projects and industry collaborations, and has published extensively in high-impact journals and international conferences. An active member of the ROS community, he also reviews for scientific journals and evaluates competitive research projects for the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI). His research and teaching have been officially recognized through national research evaluations (sexenios) and teaching quality evaluations (quinquenios and DOCENTIA). He leads the Teaching Innovation Group on Autonomous Robots and Intelligent Systems at URJC.
