Presentación

  • I am Ph.D. ("Doctor europeus", "cum laude") from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (2014), Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Universidade do Porto, Portugal (2008), and a Technical Engineering degree in Telecommunication from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2005). My main research interests are cardiac signal processing and modeling with emphasis on applications to atrial fibrillation and autonomic modeling, machine learning, and data science applied to solve clinical problems (Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular events). I also apply machine learning techniques to neuromarketing and biology problems.

    I have published 42 articles in international journals, and I have been a co-author in more than 60 contributions to conferences and a chapter in a book. Due to the multidisciplinary character in my area of research, most of the articles and contributions to conferences are as a result of continuous collaboration with different research groups: Unit Group of Arrhythmias at the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca in Murcia by Dr. Arcadi García Alberola, Biomedical Engineering Group of Professor Leif Sörnmo from the University of Lund (Sweden) Biomedical Engineering Group of Professor Pablo Laguna from the University of Zaragoza, Group of Dr. José Naranjo Orellana of Sports Physiology at Universidad Pablo of Olavide of Seville. I collaborate developing models and learning tools statistical for inference problems in biological data, specifically in ungulates superiors. Additionally, I have collaborated on 18 research projects (6 national calls, 9 research contracts, 1 PI). I am a regular reviewer of the IEEE Transactions journal on Biomedical Engineering, Frontiers in Physiology, Sensors, Entropy, Medical Informatics, and Decision Making.
