Presentación
  • Luis Cadarso earned his B.Sc. degree in Aerospace Engineering, M.Sc. degree in Aerospace Engineering, and doctorate degree with the highest honors ("premio extraordinario") from the Technical University of Madrid in 2009, 2011, and 2013, respectively. During his doctoral program, he conducted research stays at Erasmus University in the Netherlands and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the USA. Since then, he has maintained active collaborations with various international research groups.

In 2013, Dr. Cadarso joined the faculty of King Juan Carlos University in Madrid, Spain, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor. Dr. Cadarso's research interests span transportation, operations research, guidance, navigation, and control, with a focus on applications in passenger transportation and aerial platforms. His early work concentrated on applying integrated optimization approaches to the fields of rail and air passenger transportation, with an emphasis on achieving system-wide optimization rather than local solutions. More recently, his research has evolved to explore the dynamic relationship between transportation system design, planning, and real-time operations.

Dr. Cadarso's scholarly contributions include over 100 conference peer-reviewed papers (including internationally recognized works) and more than 30 journal articles. His publications have received over 1.100 citations. He has been involved in more than 15 competitive projects, including two international ones, with four where he served as the Principal Investigator. He has also been a member of the scientific committees of several international conferences and has been recognized with international research awards and best paper conference awards related to transportation.

In addition to his research activities, Dr. Cadarso is an active member of various professional and technical organizations, including FIT, INFORMS, and SEIO, where he actively participates in their organized activities. He is also involved in knowledge transfer to the industry and has overseen more than ten contracts with administrations and companies, resulting in the founding of a transportation-focused startup.

Dr. Cadarso is deeply committed to research mentoring and management. He has supervised doctoral students and served as a reviewer for indexed journals and international conferences. He has also evaluated R&D programs for organizations such as Madri+d, Spain, and the EU, as well as research certification agencies. Additionally, he is the founder and current director of the research group "Aerospace Systems and Transport."
