  • Doctor en Bellas Artes (UCM, 2007). Tesis doctoral: Del Álbum de Familia a los Weblogs, actualmente soy Profesor Titular de Tecnologías y Proyectos Audiovisuales. Fui profesor en la Universidad Europea (1997-2004). Profesor contratado en la Fundación Felipe II, (2004-2016) P. asociado de la Facultad de BBAA, (UCM 2013-2014); Profesor invitado en el Máster de Arte y Tecnología, (UCM 2004); en el Título Propio de Moda y Publicidad (UCM 2009-2011); en el Máster de Fotografía de la Escuela Elisava. Barcelona. (2020) y en el Máster en Fotografía en la Universidad. Politécnica de Valencia en 2024 y 2026. Sumo 29 años de docencia universitaria.

    Gestión universitaria: he sido coordinador del área de Dibujo de 2020-2025; coordinador académico de publicaciones en abierto desde 2023 y director académico de la Editorial Academia Abierta de la URJC, desde 2024.

    Mi actividad docente y mis investigaciones  han estado siempre vinculadas a la imagen, la cultura visual, la tecnología y los proyectos artísticos, con más de 30 ponencias invitadas y 14 proyectos de Innovación Docente. Tengo 3 tramos de Docentia, dos de ellos con calificación excelente, y coordino el grupo de innovación docente MECA, desde 2023. https://gestion2.urjc.es/pdi/grupos-innovacion/meca

    Mis líneas de investigación giran en torno a la construcción de las memorias personales, los usos de las imágenes en red, los discursos sobre la veracidad y los fraudes de las imágenes, en especial con la inteligencia artificial generativa.  Tengo 4 sexenios de investigación CNEAI y un trienio (Fundación para el Conocimiento Madri+d)). He coordinado el grupo de investigación CUVPAC de 2020 a 2025.  También desarrollo labores de comisariado como las 7 ediciones del Festival Internacional Robert Capa estuvo aquí. https://festivalrobertcapaestuvoaqui.es/

    Transferencia y Difusión: He escrito más de 25 artículos. He participado en más de 70 exposiciones y/o creaciones artísticas. He firmado 14 contratos de colaboración al amparo del Art. 83, para empresas estratégicas como El Instituto de Comercio Exterior (ICEX), Ayto. de Madrid-UNESCO, El País, Iberdrola, Repsol, Cores, Arquimea, Banco Santander. Colaboro regularmente con el Estudio Manuel Estrada, (Premio Nacional 2017), fotografiando gran parte de su obra: portadas de Alianza Editorial, Lladró, Enagás, Carmencita, Metrovacesa, Gamesa, He realizado más de 50 reportajes junto a la fotógrafa Toya Legido, creando un banco de imágenes para el ICEX y la marca España de más de 5000 imágenes.     Mis trabajos de investigación y difusión de la cultura española han sido publicados en The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Times, The Irish Times (UK), con más de 500.000 ejemplares.

    PhD in Fine Arts at Complutense University of Madrid, 2007. Doctoral thesis: From the Family Album to Weblogs. I am currently a Full Professor of Audiovisual Technologies and Projects. I was a professor at the European University (1997-2004). Contract Professor at the Felipe II Foundation (2004-2016). Associate Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts (Complutense University of Madrid, 2013-2014). Visiting Professor in the Master's Program in Art and Technology (Complutense University of Madrid, 2004); in the Postgraduate Degree in Fashion and Advertising (Complutense University of Madrid, 2009-2011); in the Master's Program in Photography at the Elisava School of Design and Engineering, Barcelona (2020); and in the Master's Program in Photography at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2024 and 2026). I have 29 years of university teaching experience. 

    University administration
    I was the coordinator of the Drawing Department from 2020 to 2025. Academic coordinator of open access publications since 2023 and the director of the URJC's Open Academy Publishing House, since 2024.

    My teaching and research have always been linked to image, visual culture, technology, and artistic projects, with over 30 invited lectures and 14 Teaching Innovation projects. I have three Docentia periods, two of them with an excellent rating, and I coordinate the MECA Teaching Innovation group, since 2023. https://gestion2.urjc.es/pdi/grupos-innovacion/meca My research focuses on the construction of personal memories, the uses of images online, discourses on veracity, and image fraud, especially in relation to Artificial Intelligence. I have four six-year research periods (CNEAI) and one three-year period (Madrid+d Foundation for Knowledge). I coordinated the CUVPAC research group from 2020 to 2025.     Knowledge Transfer and Dissemination 
    I have written more than 25 articles. I have participated in more than 70 exhibitions and/or artistic projects. I have signed 14 collaboration agreements under Article 83 with strategic companies, including the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX), the Madrid City Council-UNESCO, El País, Iberdrola, Repsol, Cores, Arquimea, and Banco Santander. I regularly collaborate with Estudio Manuel Estrada (National Prize 2017), photographing much of their work: covers for Alianza Editorial, Lladró, Enagás, Carmencita, Metrovacesa, and Gamesa. I have produced over 50 photo essays with photographer Toya Legido, creating an image bank of more than 5,000 images for ICEX and the Marca España (Brand Spain) initiative.
