  • I'm a plant ecologist with a strong interest in how global change drivers shape evolutionary processes in plants. My work focuses on advancing our understanding of ecological systems and supporting their conservation through integrative and interdisciplinary approaches.

    I combine tools from population genetics and genomics, spatial statistics, ecophysiology, and network analysis to explore the complexity of plant responses to environmental change. Beyond research, I'm deeply committed to open science, science communication, and the transfer of knowledge and technology.

    I've actively contributed to the development of national strategies for plant conservation and helped establish repositories for plant conservation and genetic resources. These efforts have enriched our understanding of the conservation status of vascular plant species in Spain and across Europe.

    In addition, through organizing specialized courses in statistics and programming, and serving as the Coordinator of the Biological Big Data Laboratory at URJC, I foster interdisciplinary collaboration and promote data-driven approaches in biodiversity and conservation-emphasizing the importance of data literacy in these fields.
