I received MS and PhD degrees in computer science from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 1997 and 2004, respectively. In 1998 I was awarded a research assistant scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Education that took place at the Oral Communication Laboratory Robert Wayne Newcomb until 2003. Since 2004 I've had a faculty position at the Department of Computer Science and Statistics, at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid, Spain) where I am currently an associate professor in the Superior Technical School of Computer Science.I have been a member of the Laboratory of Information Technologies in Education (LITE) research group (2004-2018) at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. I am currently a member of the BigMed+ research group (2019-) at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.Since 2006 I've performed several research visits to the Computer Audition Laboratory at University of California, San Diego. My current research focuses on exploratory data analysis and visualization.
